Obverse:  Soldier with sword

 

Reverse:  "In German armament - lies German honor. March 16' 1935." (France and the Soviet Union answers this act with signing an assistance treaty in May of 1935.)

On the occasion of the introduction of universal conscription for all German men. In open violation of the Versailles Treaty which restricted the German Armed Forces to 100,000 men, Hitler declares that he would create an army of 600,000 men. To accomplish this the new law determines the age for service from 18 to 45 years, and the period of training for a minimum of one year.
