Commemorating the battle of Narvik in Norway. The atlantic Norwegian port of Narvik was in British hands from May 28 to June 9, 1940. Heavy fighting took place with the German mountain troops of General Dietl. He was holding his positions against heavy fire also from English ship artillery until the British evacuated on June 10, 1940, due to the urgent need for men in the Western front in France.
