Obverse: German eagle with spread wings, as though to protect, over cowering, resistent Czech lion.

 

Reverse: "The Reich under Adolf Hitler."  New and larger map showing Germany under Hitler.  Soldier helmet over shovel. Pearled border.

In March 1939 Germany dissolved Czecho-Slovakia and created the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Slovakia became an independent state. German troops occupy Prague and the population greets them with raised fists and tears of despair.
